Steeply pitched roof and cupola provide beacon the community for tenants

Client Cal Halicom 1, LP
Location Hickory, Maryland
Cost $700,000 ±
Size 10,000 SF
Completion 2001

ADW was commissioned in 1999 by a repeat client Cal Halicom 1, LP to create a signature new retail center that would set the tone for their overall development in burgeoning Hickory, Maryland. The ten thousand square foot, one story slab-on-grade building consists of four tenants including Dairy Queen with a drive thru service window.

The structure was designed with a steeply pitched hip roof, for increasing visibility behind surrounding pad sites. A decorative cupola lit up at night provides a beacon to the community for the center. The brick building is traditional in detail, with period moldings, colonnade, gables and copper accents. All original tenants remain and are prospering. A sister building with similar detailing is planned for one of the growing tenants.

"The increased presence ADW's design has afforded our tenants has kept this retail center 100% occupied."
